Introduction: Volume Is 10 Billion — But How Much Price Did That 10 Billion Push?

BW_MFI is a single-period indicator — no lookback parameters needed. Each bar’s BW_MFI is independently calculated.

If you want to smooth BW_MFI, use SMA(BW_MFI, N):

• N=5-10: Light smoothing, preserves sensitivity
• N=20: Stronger smoothing, shows medium-term efficiency趋势

Crypto建议不做 smoothing — BW_MFI本身 is a short-term efficiency indicator; smoothing会丧失 its sensitivity. Just look at BW_MFI’s four color states directly.

Common Mistakes

1. Absolute BW_MFI Value Comparison

BW_MFI = (High-Low)/Volume. Different coins’ price ranges and volume量级 differ dramatically. BTC’s BW_MFI and ETH’s BW_MFI cannot be directly compared — BTC price range may be $5,000, ETH $200; BTC volume 10B, ETH 500M. BW_MFI only适合 same coin纵向比较.
